Coaching Services - targeted training for maximum results

We offer a variety of sport specific services to help move you forward effectively and efficiently towards your goal. Sport specific speed, strength, power and agility training can provide the competitive edge to improve your performance. Our coaches begin with a flexibility and strength assessment to help design a safe, productive and effective program for you. Often after a few sessions with your coach, you'll have the tools necessary for training on your own at home or in the gym. Strength training is used in almost all sports today for injury prevention, improved performance and as part of a balanced well rounded training plan.



Private One-on-One Technique Coaching:

Learn to train smarter - not harder. Spending as little as an hour with a licensed and experienced coach can greatly benefit your training progress.

Beginner to Advanced Run form/technique and biomechanics - evaluate run form and biomechanics; breathing efficiency, increasing speed, distance and muscular strength endurance; hill training skills and tactics; evaluate run gear to maximize performance; heart rate training; pacing strategy.

Private Swim Instruction - technique, pacing, breathing, form and technique.

Beginner to Advanced Multisport skills - focuses on race tactics, pacing, mental preparation, handling skills, sports nutrition, hydration and fueling; equipment selection, fast efficient dismounts and transitioning between disciplines efficiently.


Sport Specific Speed, Agility & Strength - Cross Country/Track:

SPORT SPECIFIC SPEED, AGILITY & STRENGTH - A safe sport specific plan helps build strength, power and speed and agility during the off season and beyond and can improve performance and prevent the risk of injury. Incorporating the wrong amount of resistance training and intensity at the wrong time of the season can detract from the quality of your race performance. Sport specific training includes strength endurance and strength acclimation; maximal strength; speed & agility; and injury prevention & maintenance.

CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK - each athlete is not afforded the individual attention they may need when competing on a team. Train Smart Coaching has worked with individuals and small groups of runners from middle school to high school age. Our detailed process for improving performance takes into account age appropriate training and injury prevention. Most often we work between seasons to identify and address ways to improve economy, build power, acceleration and strength and discuss tactics. Sport specific and Cross Country/Track plans can be designed for use in the gym and/or in your home. Individual coaching sessions and small group packages available.


Strength Training:

A customized strength training plan is safe and productive and makes the most use of your available time. All strength training classes are progressive after a strength acclimation phase. Training thereafter is structured to make the most use of valuable training time. Initial sessions focus on proper form, execution, posture and biomechanics. Sessions focus on a mix of core strength and flexibility. Individual and small group packages available.
